Vision Impairment:
Vision impairment can be present at birth, occur at any time from an accident or disease or be a part of a medical condition or syndrome (State of Queensland 1998). Vision impairment can be classified into 4 groups: totally blind, legally blind (field vision no wider than 20 degrees), low vision (may see using aids) and partially sighted (may be able to see objects far or close up with correction and can function at a ‘normal’ level) (AFB 2015).
