Gifted & Talented Differentiation:
‘Gifted students are those whose potential is distinctly above average in one or more of the following domains of human ability: intellectual, creative, social and physical.
Talented students are those whose skills are distinctly above average in one or more areas of human performance.’ (DET Gifted and Talented Students, 2004 p. 6)
In order for Gifted and Talented students to work through the curriculum at an appropriate pace and level, curriculum differentiation must be implemented with incorporation of extension and enrichment opportunities to ensure maximum student success (NSW DEC Curriculum Support, 2011).
