SchoolBiz:
SchoolBiz can be found on your DEC Portal homepage. When you have changed your region to the location most appropriate for you, you can click on “View this edition of SchoolBiz”. The link then takes you to a range of categories including: Critical Readings, Important Dates and Professional Learning & Development, Events & Resources. Within Professional Learning & Development, Events & Resources you will find a range of PL/PD events and their dates. Each registration is given a MyPL Event ID number, which can be put into your MyPl@Edu (Event ID> Search) and counts toward accreditation hours.
Open Learning:
Open Learning offers many different Professional Learning Workshops, which are commonly aligned with different BOSTES Standards for your accreditation. There are workshops and programs that are both free and payed for, majority of which are accompanied by the stamp of approval by BOSTES. For example, currently there is a free course for ‘Effective Use of Interactive Whiteboards’, it informs you that it counts toward a certain amount of hours, and what standards it contributes toward.
